The Because Doctrine Matters Podcast
I’m an Israeli believer in Christ who is convinced that if we take the Bible as being the inspired and true Word of God, then the need to understand it accurately so that we can follow its teachings must be supremely important to us. We don’t want to follow teachings (doctrines) that are unbiblical or based on a distortion of the Scriptures. Many professing Christians think that biblical teaching, that is to say, doctrine, does not matter. The entire Bible says something entirely different. It says that we can and should know the difference between truth and error, and are responsible to do so. It also says that there are consequences to believing in and following lies (e.g John 3:16-19, 14:6; 2Thess 1:6-10) and severe consequences for teaching them to others. False doctrines are harmful and destructive and there are plenty of them out there, along with a multitude of false prophets, mountebanks and charlatans peddling them. The Body of Christ in Israel is swamped in false doctrines and has more than its own share of pseudoprophets, false apostles and wolves, and we’ll be looking at some of them and their teachings (amongst other things) in the podcasts. In addition to the above, I’ll also be exploring topics like hermeneutics, biblical languages, eschatology etc. If you’re interested--tune in.

Presuppositions are powerful. They can dominate our thinking, but we need to know to be aware when we are encountering them, and assertions based on them. Knowing the difference between these things and an evidence-based exegetical argument is vital when we are sifting to find the truth of a matter.

This is a response to a very misinformed article (see here), written by a Pretrib theorist here in Israel, attacking Alan Kurschner's view of the Fourth Seal in Rev 6:8. I demonstrate that the article's author has clearly not properly read what Kurschner actually said before rushing to print, and has wrongfully accused him of twisting the text.

This is part one of a response to Pretrib proponent Michael Nissim and yet more bad arguments, logical fallacies, strange ideas, and misrepresentation about the Prewrath position being circulated here in Israel and to correct some misconceptions about what the Early Church taught on the matter with extensive quotes.
